A 1940's Galentine's Day

Galentine's Day.

A term coined by the character, Leslie Knope, from the show Parks and Recreation, Galentine's Day is celebrated the day before Valentine's and as Leslie would say, "Oh, it's only the best day of the year! Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It's like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas."

I'm all about ladies celebrating ladies and fostering a community of supportive, encouraging women is something I'm incredibly passionate about. To celebrate gal pals everywhere, me and my talented team of ladies put together a vintage themed Galentine's day shoot featuring two sisters, Carmen and Annamarie.  I love using "real" people in our styled shoots as the dynamic is authentic and we are able to gift them with some fantastic photos they may not have otherwise. It was super sweet seeing Carmen and Annamarie bond during this shoot and their carefree attitudes just radiate from the photos.

P.S. Isn't the hair and makeup sooo gorgeous?? Karlie and Brittany definitely hit it out of the park with this shoot and I was so envious of the bouncy curls, sharp cat eyes and perfect red lips. Be still my heart!
