I photographed this beautifully adventurous vow renewal for Moni and Steven in March and am so thrilled to finally show these images to you. These two got married last year with only a few witnesses at their apartment and weren't able to have a professional photographer present, so this was the perfect opportunity for them to not only renew their vows, but also take beautiful portraits to commemorate their love. Moni and Steven are up for anything, so hiking to waterfalls in Tunica Hills was the perfect way to capture their fun, adventurous spirits.
If you live in Southern Louisiana, you know our terrain is pretty flat, consisting of mostly oak trees and swamps so I'm always on the look out for shooting in interesting topographical locations. With the only waterfalls in south Louisiana, Tunica Hills straddles the Louisiana/Mississippi border and has beautiful hiking with lush foliage, deep canyons and an ice cold creek that feeds into over 50 waterfalls.
It was gorgeous to say the least. We hiked more miles than I care to count and I was sore for a few days after, but it was SO worth it. Moni wore a beautiful floral crown made by my friend and colleague, Amy of Berry Blossom Flowers, and I swear her and Steven laughed the entire time. Their giddiness was infectious.
This is what I live for. Adventurous couples who just let go and allow me to capture them in all of their honest, romantic light.
