Elizabeth & Matt's Adventurous, Outdoor Louisiana Engagement Session | Fontainebleu State Park
Here's a tip - - Plan your engagement session around places you love and things you love to do.
Lizz & Matt are active, outdoorsy and LOVE their Great Dane so choosing locations for their spring afternoon session was a no brainer. They chose the boardwalk near their home that they frequent for walks and bird watching and Fontainebleu State Park which is known for lots of open green space, ruins of an old sugar mill, and some of the best vantage points to watch the sunset over Lake Pontchartrain. These locations held so many great memories for both Lizz and Matt that they felt comfortable in the setting and naturally fell into a rhythm with each other that was a breeze to photograph.
We literally played for a few hours during their session and had a blast connecting over our mutual love of Lord of the Rings and our lust of travel. Lizz and Matt got engaged in Iceland on a glacier...how freaking rad is that???
Besides loving on their Great Dane and getting sloppy dog kisses, my favorite part of their session was when we ended up watching the sunset barefoot while wading through the lake at low tide. The light was soft and pink, smoothing out the harsh edges of the world around us and making everything glow. We were at such peace and I pinched myself to make sure it was real. Sure enough, experiencing perfect moments with sweet, beautiful souls exists if you know where to look for them.
