Grace and Jared's Luscious Backyard Wedding with Vintage Details and Botanical Garden First Look | New Orleans, Louisiana

After postponing their wedding one(wait…two??) times due to coronavirus, Grace and Jared finally had the intimate, backyard celebration of their dreams on a balmy September day in New Orleans.

We started their day in my favorite way by skipping the traditional getting ready portraits and jumping right into their first look at the New Orleans Botanical Gardens. A lush playground tucked away in City Park, it felt appropriate to start here - the formal gardens were a wonderful juxtaposition to the intimate, relaxed backyard ceremony to follow.

In a very New Orleans fashion, we took our time in the gardens, allowing Grace and Jared to truly soak in that time together before moseying over to their home nearby where their backyard was transformed into an oasis of twinkle lights, draped fabric, vintage seating and lush florals. It was seriously magical. Seriously.

If you’re considering a backyard wedding and are on the fence, this will push you right over.

My sweet couple wed under the majestic oak in their backyard; the ceremony officiated by Grace’s sister and witnessed by their immediate families(with others watching via livestream, of course).

The evening followed with BBQ, handmade gifts, playing piano in the living room, Roman Holiday on the TV and sneaking onto the front porch to steal kisses. It was sublime and so reminiscent of how weddings used to be. Intimate, casual, family focused and so darling.
